Located at Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, the only international stadium of our country has seen lots of ups and downs through time. Yet, we have not been able to notice any remarkable efforts to upgrade it. The structures and resources are very insufficient to fulfill the ever-growing necessities of the players and also the audiences. The ticket rate is increasing with the time but the facilities are always the same. The lack of regular maintenance has been recognized time and again. Even during the international level events the Floodlight of the Ground had been seen out of order and thus causing the matches to be delayed or postponed.
Yet, the Ground has gracefully welcomed and handled some non sport events like concerts of world famous American singer Bryan Adams and Pakistani rockstar Atif Aslam. however due to absence of covering hood rain has made the audiences to run out of the stadium and the players especially football players are compelled to compromise their performance.
The necessity of other well equipped stadium in the other parts of the country is also recognized and some efforts have also been made towards that these days. But, till then we are all to be dependent upon the same old Dasharath Stadium. Hope we'll see it change itself and upgrade as per the time soon.
